Yeah, I thought not. I guess it's more popular here because about 6% of our population is ethnically Indian, Pakistani, or Bangladeshi.

(Conversely, Mexican food really isn't that popular in the UK. It's known, but in terms of popularity, it's well behind Italian, Indian, Chinese, and even Thai).

I must be lucky then, both are common here, but we're spoiled for choice as far as food variety goes.
From what I can understand it's an anomaly here in the states.
